Culture Pass Pima County

Culture Pass Launches in Pima County

Beginning October 1, 2015, the Pima County Public Library Joel D. Valdez Library will begin offering library cardholders the opportunity to "check out" free admission passes to several arts and culture attractions and performances in Tucson. Additionally, library cardholders can check out passes to several statewide venues. By November 15, 2015, a total of eight Pima County Public Libraries will have the passes available to library cardholders. The metropolitan Tucson program is generously supported by Cox Communications.

How it Works: Library cardholders select the venue or performance of their choice from the display at their local library, and they have seven days to visit the venue or reserve their performance tickets. A maximum of five passes per week for Tucson venues will be available for checkout at each of the eight participating libraries. A maximum of two passes per week for venues outside Pima County will be available for checkout at each of the eight participating libraries.

Participating Libraries: The program will launch to the public at the Joel D. Valdez Main Library on Oct. 1, with seven additional libraries participating in the program by Nov. 15. The other participating Pima County Public Libraries are the Eckstrom-Columbus Library, Joyner-Green Valley Library, Kirk-Bear Canyon Library, Miller-Golf Links Library, Mission Library, Valencia Library and Woods Memorial Library.

Arts Partners: Each library will offer five passes per week to each of the attractions, which include Tohono Chul Park, Tucson Museum of Art and University of Arizona Museum of Art. The Jewish History Museum and Tucson Botanical Gardens will join the program in January 2016 when they are open to general admission. Passes for tickets to Arizona Opera, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Arizona Theatre Company and UA Presents performances will also be available approximately two weeks prior to the participating show dates.

An additional 10 venues outside of Pima County will have passes available including the Cave Creek Museum, Challenger Space Center, Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Desert Botanical Garden, Halle Heart Children's Museum, Phoenix Art Museum, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Heard Museum, Sedona Heritage Museum and Superstition Mountain Museum.
